What Is OwnTheLines?

OwnTheLines is a fantasy competition platform built around sports-odds literacy. Members make selections from scheduled market data including moneyline, spread, and totals markets, and are graded against actual game outcomes using a simulated bankroll. Private leagues keep competition between friends, coworkers, or communities you already know. No money changes hands. Standings reflect stakes, payouts, penalties, and results; they do not prove forecasting skill.

Private League Play

Create a league and share its generated invite code with your group. Private leagues support up to 500 members. Check the separate public-leaderboard setting before assuming standings are private.

Market Lines

OwnTheLines uses scheduled market data for supported sports; updates are not continuously real-time. Available markets include moneylines, point spreads, and over/under totals. Lines close at game start, and selections are graded from final scores.

No Real Money

Every account uses a simulated starting balance. There are no entry fees, no deposits, and no monetary rewards. This is purely for skill practice, education, and competitive enjoyment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is OwnTheLines free?

Yes. Leagues use simulated balances, with no entry fees, real-money wagers, or monetary prizes.

How do I create a league?

Use Create League after signing in. Set the available league options and share the generated invite code. League settings control stake limits, weekly minimums, sports, and whether bots participate.

Which sports are supported?

The configured categories are basketball, American football, soccer, baseball, hockey, tennis, combat sports, and golf. Available games and markets depend on scheduled data, the season, and league eligibility.

Do standings measure forecasting skill?

Standings report simulated competition results. They also reflect stakes, prices, penalties, and realized outcomes; they do not prove calibrated probabilities or a real-world betting advantage.
