Founded by a technologist with 20+ years in enterprise software, OwnTheLines is built on a modern, production-grade stack (Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and real-time data pipelines) to replace guesswork with transparent probability for the modern sports analyst.
OwnTheLines is a fantasy competition platform for public and private groups. Members use probability-based scoring against live market lines to practice decision-making and compare performance over a season.
We focus on transparent rules, educational context, and clean league operations so groups can run consistent skill-based competitions.

How leagues work
- Create or join a private league with an invite code.
- Each member starts with the same simulation bankroll.
- Members make line selections before game start (moneyline, spread, and totals when available).
- Results process from final game scores and update standings automatically.
- League settings can include maximum per-selection limits and weekly participation minimums.
Bot players
Leagues can include optional bot players that follow defined strategies (for example: crowd-following, underdog-focused, favorite-focused, and totals-focused). Bots help keep leagues active and provide benchmark behavior for comparison.
