Returns depend on the offered odds, stakes, and settled outcomes. Standings also reflect weekly shortfall deductions. They describe simulated results and do not measure the true probability or probabilistic quality of each selection.
What is OwnTheLines?
OwnTheLines offers simulated sports competitions. Participants choose game markets and compare realized results, which do not establish forecasting skill or true probabilities.
Does this platform involve real-money gambling?
No. No real-money gambling occurs on this platform. There are no entry fees, no user-funded reward pools, and no monetary rewards.
How does scoring work?
League settings define simulation balances and weekly participation requirements. Results are processed from game outcomes and displayed on standings and history views.
How does a league run week to week?
- Create or join a private league using an invite code.
- Each member starts with the same simulation bankroll.
- Make line selections before game start.
- Completed games are graded and standings update automatically.
- Weekly minimum participation rules may apply, depending on league settings.
What line types are available?
Most leagues use three common market types: Moneyline (select the side you expect to win outright), Spread (select a side against a points handicap), and Total (select over or under a projected combined score).
How are outcomes graded?
Outcomes are typically shown as Win, Loss, or Push. A Push means the result landed exactly on the line, so the selection has no gain or loss.
How do bots work?
Optional market-persona bots run after successful odds refreshes. Copy Cat runs separately at 16:00 UTC daily using eligible human selections in the same league. Both require an eligible active league with at least one human member and can skip wagering when constraints are not met.
Why are ads displayed?
Advertising is currently disabled. The platform reserves placements on substantive public editorial pages; login, registration, and tool-only screens are excluded.
